Venture Crew 86

About Us

 

Venturing is a more advanced branch of scouting, and therefore is only available to those 14 years or older, but members are considered "youth" until they are 21 years old.  This allows a larger variety of activities that may have been banned in traditional Boy Scouting.

 

In 2013, a few members of Troop 86 created a Venturing Crew.  Though meetings are seldom, activities happen very often, and all High Adventure Trips, with the exception of Seabase in 2015, are run through the crew.  Other activities include laser tag in Lehigh Valley, pistol shooting at Pocono Pistol Club, snowmobiling, ziplining at Skytop Lodge Adventure Center.  We also do service projects and host fundraisers such as our annual Leaf-It-To-Us spring yard-clean up and various breakfasts and dinners.

 

In order to be a member of the crew, you must be 14 years or older, or have completed the 8th Grade, and you must be an active member of Troop 86.
